About Ebooks
eBook Rules Are Different
An eBook isn’t quite like a “print” book. Once you pay for a print book, you can pretty much do what you want with it—sell it, give it away, burn it, whatever!
With eBooks, though, the rules are a little different. You’re not allowed to copy, sell, or share an eBook. (You could burn it, but I wouldn’t recommend that! Not good for the environment—or your laptop!)
eBooks are also non-transferable and non-refundable. Sort of like airline tickets—you’ve got a one way ticket to ride, but it’s gonna be a great trip!
Reading eBooks
If you buy your book from eXcessica, you will have a choice of at least .PDF, .html or .lit format. Most books are also available in .mobi, .pdb, .kml and .rb formats as well.
Adobe Acrobat (.PDF)
This is a free program for your computer or PDA you can download from adobe.com. This format is the most popular, it can be read from your computer screen or imported to a Palm or Pocket PC and can even be printed.
HTML
This format can be read from your computer using your browser and can be used to convert to your favorite ebook reader’s required format. It can be opened by a word processing program for printing.
