eXcessively pleasurable fiction
from the sweet to the forbidden
PLEASE REVIEW eXcessica’s EDITING GUIDELINES BEFORE YOU SUBMIT!
eXcessica is always accepting submissions in all genres and heat levels.
BUT…
Just because we like to push the boundaries doesn’t mean we don’t want an actual story with our erotica. Excessive sex is great (we like excess!) so sex in every chapter is fine—but sex without any semblance of a plot is not. We are looking for fully developed characters, plots and settings.
eXcessica is not a vanity publisher, so we will not charge you to publish with us. With eXcessica we offer you a simple contract, giving eXcessica the contractual right to publish your work, and we keep nothing. That’s right, we take no percentage of your sale. All sales are yours.
We will accept previously published works if you hold exclusive rights (and have proof of such.)
Heat Levels
eXcess 1: Story with a focus on plot and, if a romance, a happily ever after (or happy for now) ending. May contain sexual content and strong language, or may be a “sweet” romance. Check the “warnings” on the book page!
eXcess 2: Story with a well-written plot, strong language and sexual content and, if a romance, not necessarily a happily ever after or happy-for-now ending.
eXcess 3: Strong, detailed sexual language and content, explicit and descriptive plot, some objectionable material (threesomes, toys, crossdressing, bisexual, transgender, etc.) So pretty much, almost anything goes.
eXcess 4: Seriously taboo. This is the controversial category, and will contain things like incest, elements of non-consent, age-play, etc.
Boundaries
Well we had to have some boundaries!
Underage sex—a controversial topic to say the least. Since we are based in the U.S. and considering the current political climate, we have to say that underage is defined as someone under the age of 18. So no descriptive sexual situations with underage persons will be allowed—however, allusions and reference to it happening in the past is okay.
Rape—this is a soft boundary. We do accept some non-consent work. Submit it and we’ll see!
Necrophilia and bestiality—no surprise, the dead folks and the earth-animals are still off-limits, folks. Of course, this doesn’t include the UNdead (vampires) or fantastical animals (shapeshifters, werewolves, etc.)

A NOTE ON EDITING: We expect you to be incredibly diligent about your work. It needs to be as error-free as possible before submission. If your mss has clearly been sent to us unedited, it will be returned to you. Once accepted, your mss will be edited and reviewed before publication.
A NOTE ON COVER ART: If your mss is accepted (allow 4-6 weeks) you will be offered the opportunity to either provide cover art (with copyright clearance—you can use stock photos or use photos under a creative commons license) or complete our cover art request form. Most of our authors are extremely creative individuals, and not just as writers, so they enjoy the freedom of doing their own cover art.
